Volunteer - how to help - Contact uS
Would you like to join our team?
Blood Bike West relies on the voluntary contributions of its members to run and deliver the service. So, how can you get involved in supporting Blood Bike West - like most things, we start with time !
- Volunteer riders - To ride our liveried bikes you need to be aged 25 or over, hold a full clean motorbike licence for at least 2 years......and you need to have (or be willing to obtain) the advanced riding qualification RoSPA, (we help organise this with you, including help with training ). Garda Vetting is standard procedure. Ideally, you should be located within 45 minutes of Galway City Centre....if in doubt, do contact us: there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
- Controller - you will work from home answering calls from hospitals and passing them on to our riders and drivers. You will keep track of the riders, making sure they have reached their destination and made it back home safely, and record the information on our online system. Calls are automatically diverted to your number when you are on shift.
- Fundraisers - you will attend events on behalf of the Group, with other volunteers, and look to raise funds for our operations, and increase awareness about who we are and what we do. You will be of smart appearance, adopt the uniform and be a people person.
Please email us if you have any queries regarding membership and we will be delighted to forward all relevant documents - just fill in some basic info on the form below and we will then contact you :
